Better input. Better design.
How the information you share shapes the speed, accuracy, and quality of the work.
Clear input creates room for better work. The more useful information you give me, the faster I can get to the right answer.
What has the biggest impact on the result?
The clarity of your information. Your goals, audience, content, constraints, and feedback give the design its direction. A complete brief helps me make informed decisions sooner, spend less time filling gaps, and produce work that fits your business. I bring the design expertise; you bring the knowledge of your business.
What should I include in a request?
You do not need a polished presentation. A clear message covering these points is enough:
- The problem we are solving and the action you want someone to take.
- Who the design is for, where it will be used, and the required size or format.
- Approved copy, images, logos, brand files, and any technical requirements.
- References, with a sentence explaining what you like or dislike about each.
- The deadline, its reason, and the person who can approve the work.
Flag anything that is missing, provisional, or still being decided. That lets me plan the right first step.
Do I need to know the design solution already?
No. Tell me the problem, the context, and what success looks like. You do not need to prescribe a layout or know design terminology. If the direction is unclear, we can make discovery or an initial exploration the first request.
What happens if my brief is incomplete?
I will identify the important gaps and ask for what is needed. We can agree on assumptions or a smaller first step when appropriate. Missing content, access, or decisions can delay a start, interrupt progress, or lead to rework. I will make those dependencies clear rather than quietly guess.
Can I send everything later?
You can, but late inputs can change the sequence and timing. Placeholder content may help explore a direction, but it is not a substitute for approved copy or final assets. Replacing it can affect layout, page length, and revisions.
