Files, formats & editability
What each format is for, and what a handoff does not automatically include.
Figma & editable files
Figma is a common workspace for digital layouts, systems, and collaboration. The brief confirms the source format and access or file-copy handoff. A Figma layout does not automatically become an editable PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, Word, Illustrator, or Photoshop document. Format conversion is not assumed.
JPG, PNG, SVG & PDF
JPG is a flattened image without transparency. PNG can retain transparency but remains a raster image. SVG is useful for scalable vector artwork where supported; it does not turn photography into vector artwork. PDF can be prepared for screen review or print production, which are different exports.
Print-ready does not mean Figma-ready
A screen PDF or Figma export is not automatically a press-ready CMYK file. When print production is included, artwork is prepared or converted using a suitable workflow and checked against the printer’s specifications. Confirm any PDF/X standard, profile, spot colors, overprint, and font requirements first.
Licenses & source dependencies
Fonts, stock images, mockup templates, and paid software retain their own licensing requirements. Editable files may need licensed fonts or assets installed on your side. Licenses and outside costs are confirmed separately, not silently bundled into an export.
What is handed over
Final approved exports and agreed editable sources are shared by link or a downloadable file package, with clear names for sizes and versions. Internal explorations, every unused concept, every software-native format, and unlimited alternate exports are not automatically part of the handoff.
